Founded in 2015, YEELO is a humanitarian NGO working to improve the lives of youth, minority, and marginalized communities in Somalia. We focus on education, health, safe water, livelihoods, peacebuilding, and human rights.
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT EDUCATION LIFELINE ORGANIZATION (YEELO)) was founded in Beledweyne, Somalia on the 1st of January 2015 by professionals from that area who saw an unmet need for support for youth and people with special needs, and pastoral communities and Minority Groups in the sectors of Health, WASH, education, and food security & livelihoods. YEELO has its head office in Beledweyne. We also have representatives responsible for fundraising and liaison based in Mogadishu and Nairobi.
At YEELO, we focus on empowering communities through practical and lasting solutions. Our work spans education, health, livelihoods, human rights, media, and environmental protection—ensuring that marginalized groups, especially youth and women, have equal opportunities to thrive.
