Empowering Youth and Building Inclusive Futures in Somalia

Youth Empowerment Education Lifeline Organization (YEELO) is a humanitarian, non-profit, and non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering youth and marginalized communities across Somalia. Since its establishment on January 1, 2015, YEELO has worked to expand access to education, health, and safe water, while promoting livelihoods, human rights, and social inclusion.

Headquartered in Beledweyne, Somalia, with liaison representation in Mogadishu and Nairobi, YEELO was founded by local professionals who saw an urgent need to support vulnerable communities—especially minority groups, youth, and pastoral families—through development and humanitarian programs that drive long-term resilience.

Our Mission

YEELO empowers youth, strengthens community institutions, and builds local capacity to improve livelihoods and promote self-reliance. We work toward a Somalia where everyone—regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background—can access education, health, and opportunity, guided by the principles of good governance, gender equity, human rights, and sustainability.

Our Vision

We envision communities where every person has equal access to education and basic services, human rights are respected, and social justice and environmental protection are upheld.

Our Goal is to eradicate social discrimination and strengthen access to education, health, water, sanitation, and sustainable livelihoods—especially for women, girls, and minority groups.

We are guided by principles that define our identity and commitment:

Respect for Diversity: Embracing different perspectives and cultural contexts.

Accountability: Ensuring transparency and community participation in all we do.

Excellence: Delivering services guided by best practices and measurable impact.
